Terms of Service.

Last updated: 24 July 2026. By accessing or using Mukoko, you agree to be bound by these terms. Mukoko is operated by Nyuchi Africa (Pvt) Ltd under licence from the Bundu Foundation.

Agreement

By accessing or using Mukoko, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Mukoko is a digital twin social ecosystem comprising seventeen mini-apps, operated by Nyuchi Africa (Pvt) Ltd, a company registered in Zimbabwe, under licence from the Bundu Foundation, a non-profit Company Limited by Guarantee registered in Zimbabwe.

What Mukoko includes

These terms apply to the whole ecosystem — one Mukoko ID across:

  • Seventeen mini-apps — Campfire, Pulse, Mukoko News, Bytes, Novels, Circles, Nhimbe, BushTrade, Wallet, Jobs, Places, Transport, Mukoko Lingo, Weather, Health, Planner, and Mukoko ID.
  • The substrate — your Digital Twin, Mukoko Home, the MUKOKO Token layer, and the Ubuntu contribution layer.
  • Mukoko Kweli — the trust platform for place discovery and reviews.

Individual surfaces may add rules appropriate to their purpose (for example, marketplace rules in BushTrade or publishing rules in Novels); those sit on top of these terms.

The Ubuntu principle

All participants in the Mukoko ecosystem agree to uphold the Ubuntu principle: “I am because we are.” This means treating fellow community members with dignity, respect, and care. OurCommunity Guidelines set out the standards in detail.

Your account

Your Mukoko ID is your unified identity across the ecosystem, with a verification tier that other members can rely on. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be old enough under your local law to form this agreement.

Content & creator rights

You retain ownership of all content you create on Mukoko. By publishing content, you grant Mukoko a non-exclusive licence to display and distribute it within the ecosystem. Creator revenue shares are:

  • Novel authors — 85% of chapter revenue.
  • Pulse creators — 80% of tipping revenue.
  • Nhimbe event organisers — 90% of ticket revenue.

Commerce and payments

Wallet, BushTrade, Jobs, and Nhimbe let you transact with other members. Payments may settle via the MUKOKO Exchange Token (MXT), mobile money, bank transfer, card, or other supported rails. You are responsible for the accuracy of your listings and for meeting your obligations to buyers, sellers, and event attendees. Fees for a transaction are shown before you confirm it.

Prohibited conduct

You may not use Mukoko to:

  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
  • Spread misinformation or hate speech.
  • Attempt to access other users’ data without authorisation.
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data.
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations.

MUKOKO tokens

The Mukoko ecosystem uses two tokens on Polygon PoS: the MUKOKO Identity Token (MIT), a soulbound non-transferable token anchored to your verified identity, and the MUKOKO Exchange Token (MXT), a transferable utility token for payments, tipping, and peer-to-peer transfers. Neither token represents any ownership interest or security in Nyuchi Africa, the Bundu Foundation, or any affiliated entity. Data written to the public blockchain is, by design, permanent and public.

Termination

You can stop using Mukoko and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or our Community Guidelines, following the restorative moderation process where appropriate, and immediately where needed to protect members or the platform.

Governing entities and law

The Bundu Foundation (Zimbabwe), a non-profit Company Limited by Guarantee, serves as the custodian of the protocol, token economics, and Ubuntu charter. Nyuchi Africa (Pvt) Ltd (Zimbabwe) is the for-profit operating company that builds and operates the platform under a revocable service agreement with the Foundation. These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe, with disputes settled by arbitration in Harare unless local law provides otherwise.
